This is Matthew Ayegra.
11 years ago, he was murdered by Islamic extremists alongside 20 others.
He wasn’t a Christian when he was captured.
But after witnessing the faith and courage of believers who refused to deny Christ even in the face of death something shifted within him.
When it was his turn and he was asked to renounce Christ, he reportedly said:
“Their God is my God.”
Reflection
There is a dimension of faith that goes beyond words it is lived, seen, and felt.
What Matthew encountered was not just religion. It was conviction in action.
When faith is real, it produces something undeniable. It speaks louder than sermons. It stands firm under pressure. It refuses to bow even when it costs everything.
This is the kind of faith that provokes revelation.
It reminds me of the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8:26–39. He was searching, reading, hungry for truth but it took a living vessel, Philip, to bring clarity and activation.
In the same way, Matthew saw the gospel not preached but demonstrated. And in that moment, revelation was born.
“Their God is my God.”
Not because he was taught.
Not because he was persuaded.
But because he saw Christ revealed through men.
James 2:18 says, “Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.”
This is the call:
👉 That our lives preach Christ
👉 That our conviction stands in trials
👉 That our faith becomes a living evidence
Because somewhere, someone is watching…
And your life may be the only Bible they will ever read.
Conviction must meet action.
That is where revelation is born.
For wisdom and instruction, knowledge is one of the foundational pathway but for understanding, perception is the pathway. You can't dwell in heaven without understanding of the ways of God and perception is the pathway to understanding.
