MR. CRITICAL
Once I led a man to the Lord who had a pretty rough background. After being born again, he joined our church and began criticizing everything. He criticized people for using soap because it wasn't natural. (He could have used a lot of soap too—he needed it!) He criticized people because they peeled their potatoes, and the skin was the most nutritious part. This guy just had an opinion about everything!
I didn't find out until later, but this fellow had been the first person ever indicted by the California Grand Jury three times before he was a teenager. He had lived in reformatories since the age of five. Because of all this, and growing up around so much strife, there was a tremendous amount of anger and resentment in him.
After a couple of months, he came to me one day and said,
"I'm leaving this church. I'm going back out into the desert because there's too much strife here."
I just got bold and told him, "Yes, there is strife in this church, but it's all coming from you. There wasn't any strife among the members until you came in here and started criticizing
everybody. You're the source of this strife!"
"Really? I didn't realize it."
"You didn't realize that when you criticize people over everything they do that they aren't going to like that?"\
This brother just sat down and began to tell me about his background. Then he said, "I guess I just didn't realize it was strife. I just thought it was normal." Then he continued, saying,
"If you were to tell me to act healed when I feel sick, I can do that because I've felt healed before. But when you're telling me to walk in love, I guess I don't know how to do that. I've
never felt love before." I had to take this guy and start teaching him through the life of Jesus what it's like to love people.
Some folks come from a background where screaming, yelling, and throwing things were normal. There are plenty of families like that, but it's not the way God wants us to be.

Do you treat strangers better than your own family? Many people wouldn't dare to treat me the way that they treat their own children, yet they wonder, Why am I having these lousy kid!" scream at me, "Why haven't you done this yet?"
and see how our relationship gets along. If that's how you treat your family, you have a double standard.
When you blast your family members—the people you're supposed to love more than anybody else—it's no wonder you're dealing with rebellion, strife, and division. If you want
godly relationships, you have to start guarding your tongue.
You have to realize that you can't tolerate such strife. Satan comes in through the doors of envy and strife and works every evil work in your life.
Would you allow a poisonous snake to run loose in your house? If it got into the heating vent, perhaps you wouldn't see it for a week or two, but if you knew it was still lurking there,
somewhere, you'd probably say, "I don't care how long it takes, I am not going to live in a house with a dangerous, venomous viper on the loose!" It might not be an immediate
threat, but if you never knew just where it was... hunting.....
Strife is much more deadly than a poisonous snake! Along with envy, strife opens up an inroad for every evil work in your life. It's time you snap out of complacency and recognize that you're in a spiritual battle. You can't tolerate envy, strife, unforgiveness or any other negative emotion.
Some people look at pornographic images and think, Well, I'll never act that out. Every time you indulge your flesh, you are releasing spiritual powers into your life. As you give more and
more of a place to the devil, I guarantee that it will cost you something. Sin will take you further than you want to go, cost you more than you want to pay, and keep you longer than you
want to stay.
Every one of us is exposed to the forces of the kingdom of darkness each and every day. We aren't on R&R (rest and relaxation). We aren't in a secured area where our actions
don't really count. We're in a spiritual battle, with a real enemy who wants to take advantage of us any way he can.
God's Word says, "Neither give place to the devil," (Eph. 4:27).
You are the one who gives Satan inroads into your life. He takes whatever "place" you give him through your thoughts, words, emotions, and actions.

Fruitfulness is productivity. Traffic leads to revenue. Until your productivity results in value creation. It is just physical exertion.

People are interested in the value that your product can provide. Consciously create the value and give yourself to the process.

People drops their money to eliminate or reduce a pain. Our job as entrepreneurs is to give ourselves to the process and inject vitality into once painful experience.

Jesus is more than enough

AFTER DEATH—WHAT?
When God began to perform mighty miracles in Kathryn Kuhlman's meetings, it would have been easy for her to change her message. Yet she never did.
In virtually every service she called sinners to repentance. Why? Because she knew that physical healing is temporal, salvation is eternal.

In her book A Glimpse into Glory, Kathryn answers the question, "After Death—What?"

As long as I'm still in this body of flesh I am susceptible to sickness, disease, sorrow, and heartbreak. It's a body of corruption. It is a mortal body. But one of these days it shall no
longer be a vile body. It shall be changed from corruption to incorruption. It shall be changed from mortal to immortal. It shall be raised, not as a vile body, but as a body fashioned like unto His body, the body of our wonderful Jesus.

We thrill to the glorious fact that our sins are covered with the Blood. But my redemption will never be perfected until that day when that which is now corruption, that which is now
mortal, shall be raised in incorruption and immortality. One day I shall stand in His glorious presence, with a glorious new body.
When the trump of the Lord shall sound and the dead in Christ shall rise first, and those which are still alive shall be caught up to
meet Him in the air, so shall I ever be with Him.
Those who have gone before are not lost, not separated from us permanently. One of these days I'm going to see Papa again.
One of these days I'm going to see Mama again. One of these days I'm going to be with my loved ones.

I won't exchange that glorious hope for a title deed to all the world. My place in heaven is prepared. My hope is secure. I'm ready to go. I'll see you on the other side. For Kathryn Kuhlman, "one of these days" was much closer than she realized.

HOW TO END THE STRUGGLE.
Some years ago, I was pastor of a church in western Pennsylvania. In that church, there was a beautiful young lady, a high school girl, who came to me and said, "Brother Schambach, I've come to tell you good-bye. I am not coming to church any more. I just can't live this life. There are too many pressures in high school. I am not going to be a hypocrite. I
can't live it, and I am not going to come to church and pretend that I am a Christian."

I said to her, "Sit down there. I have something I
want to tell you. I appreciate your honesty, and I am glad that you came and told me instead of just .dropping out. But I want to tell you something about living the Christian life. I can't do it either!"
That almost knocked her off her chair. She said, "What! But you are the preacher! You can't mean that!"
I said, "I am made of the very same stuff that you are, flesh and blood. I learned my lesson a long time ago. There is no way that I can live it, but you can find somebody that will come into your life and live it through you! His name is Jesus!"
Isn't this beautiful?

I believe that we need this kind of teaching. When .you recognize that you can't do it, and turn the whole struggle over to Jesus and let Him do it, He will do it right! That old you has to die! Mortify your members that are upon the earth!
But there are still people in the church that are living like the devil. You know it's the truth!
You say, "But I am doing all I know how!"
Well, now, if we could get by on doing all we know how, Jesus would never have had to die. God was looking for a man that would live this life in the world, but He couldn't find one.

There was David, a man after God's own heart, but you know his story. He got his eyes on another man's wife, and sent that man off to battle and got him killed so that he could marry the woman. David! There is that old battle again. Flesh!

Samson, a man who had supernatural strength, but for the unlawful love of a woman, he lost all his power.
God was looking for a man who would live this
life. Finally, Jesus said, "Father, let me go down there! I will show you how to live this thing!"
Jesus Christ, in the fullness of time, was born of a woman. Mary did not have a husband at the time. He was conceived of Holy Ghost seed.
When He was conceived, Jesus was stripped of His divine power. That statement may amaze you, even shock you, but look at the record.

II Cor. 8:9: "For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich."

Hebrews 2:17:
"Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be
made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people."

Phil. 2:8:
"And being found in fashion as a man, he
humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

His life on earth was like your life and mine. As a man, He did not become a miracle worker until after the Holy Ghost came upon Him when He was baptized in Jordan. He suffered temptation as a man, and overcame temptation as a man.

Hebrews 4:15:
"(He) was in all points tempted like as we are,
yet without sin."

When He was offered up on Calvary, His blood became the perfect, acceptable sacrifice for sin because there was no sin, no guilt in that blood. He was a spotless Lamb, slain before the foundation of the world.

I want you know that Jesus lived this human life, from His birth to His crucifixion, without sin. He died, and the grave could not hold Him! Can you say praise the Lord?
He was resurrected in the fullness of time, and took His seat on the right hand of God the Father, where He is now making.intercession for you and for me.
He told the disciples to go to Jerusalem and wait until they received the Holy Ghost. He said, "He can't come until I send Him to you, but ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me."
Jesus said, "I am going to walk in you and talk in you, and I am going to be your God, and you are going to be my people."

You say, "Well now, if Jesus is the only one that
lived this life, how in the world can you say that I can live it?"
You can't! But when you are dead, crucified with Christ, He will live it through you!

Did you ever hear somebody stand up in church and say, "Thank the Lord, I am saved and sanctified and living holy and blameless. Nobody can point a finger at me!"
I would say, "Why don't you sit down and shut up?
You aren't doing a thing! You are supposed to be dead, crucified. Dead folks don't brag!"
Everything is "I." Let us glory in nothing, save in the cross of Christ.

"Crucified with Christ; nevertheless, I live; yet
not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life that I
now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
Gal. 2:20.
Then Paul goes on to say,
"I do not frustrate the grace of God; for if
righteousness came by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. (v. 21.)

This is the first step. As a Christian, know that it is not you living it; it is Christ living, walking, talking, moving in you. I learned this secret a long time ago.

I told that young lady who came to me
discouraged, "I know I can't live it, but I have learned that I am to identify myself with Christ, upon that .cross. Jesus not only carried Schambach's sins to the cross; He carried Schambach! I am crucified with
Christ through identification. I have been buried with Him in baptism."
Thank God, when we baptize you, we are not going to leave you under the water. We are going to bring you up. There is a resurrection that takes place.
The old man is left behind, dead. The new man rises to walk in newness of life with Christ Jesus. He said,"I will never leave you nor forsake you, even to the end of the age!"

You say, "Do you mean to tell me that I won't be
tempted any more?"
Of course you will be tempted! You will be
tempted more than ever before. But you can look the devil right in the eye and say, "You are dealing with my big Brother! Go ahead, Jesus! You have been this way before. I am just going to stand here and rejoice while you fight the battle for me!"
When the temptation comes, don't you try to fight it. Remember, Jesus won this battle before, and He is going to win it again.
Newness of life!
Born again!
A child of God!
Now you don't have to struggle, because you have learned that somebody is going to fight your battles for you.

AS A YOUNG missionary with my wife in Africa, I sometimes preached to just five people. My opportunity to see the impact of the glorious Gospel presented in the “proven” tradition of foreign missions had come. But five people? Beyond our mission station there were 450 million souls in Africa, most of who were ignorant of salvation through Jesus Christ. Yes, they could all be evangelized by the way we were tackling it, but only if they obliged us by staying alive for about five thousand years!
However, small audiences did not dismay us. Revival could come, and that would save us a lot of trouble. God could rouse Himself to battle. This hope kept us patient and starry-eyed, for had not our spiritual great grandfathers banked upon this with unquestioning faith?
AN UNPREACHED GOSPEL IS NO GOSPEL
Later, I began questioning this idea. It struck me that the Gospel is not good news to people who do not hear it–that an unpreached Gospel is no gospel at all. Another small ray of understanding penetrated my heart. In the New Testament we never read about God going forth on His own, but that, “They went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them” (Mark 16:20, emphasis added). God acted when they acted. Smith Wigglesworth once said, “The Acts of the Apostles was written because the apostles acted!”
Therefore, He is waiting for us to act also! That meant that I had to do something.
I started a Bible correspondence course, and within five years fifty thousand people had enrolled. So many! Like a periscope from a submarine, it revealed that I was submerged in an ocean of salvation-hungry humanity. In addition, a vision followed me. Night after night I saw a map of the entire African continent being washed in the blood of Jesus, country after country, and at the same time the Holy Spirit kept whispering in my ear, “Africa shall be saved!”
Wait for revival? We had waited—persistently and patiently— through a hundred long years of earnest prayer. Surely God must answer now?
Yet, one more fact faced me. There had never been revival without the preaching of the Gospel. So, on a seemingly wild impulse, which proved to be of God, I booked a ten-thousand-seat stadium for a campaign with a church of forty members—and ten thousand people came! It was the first ripe wheat.
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
—MATTHEW 9:37–38
For the first time I witnessed thousands running forward to respond to the call of salvation. God opened my eyes, and I actually saw an invisible, mighty wave of Holy Spirit power arrive in the stadium. A mass baptism in the Holy Spirit, accompanied by many healing miracles, took place. I wept like a baby and vowed to the Lord that in obedience I would move across all of Africa to bring the vision to pass. I reasoned that if God could do that to ten thousand people, He could do it to 450 million.
What we are seeing God do today in Africa is breathtaking. Following in the footsteps of famous missionaries of old, we reap with joy where they had sown in tears. We came to Bukavu, first visited by missionary C. T. Studd, and still remote in the rain forests of Zaire. There we saw seventy thousand people respond to the call of God’s love. David Livingstone prophesied that where he hardly saw a convert, later there would be thousands, and so it was. At Blantyre, Malawi, named after the town in Scotland where Livingstone was born, several hundred thousand responded to the call of salvation.
