The last days also are the days of vengeance and vengeance is facilitated by prayer and fasting Isaiah 61:2/4-7. The ministry of the Apostle portray vengeance Acts 13:10 2 Thessalonians 1:6 2 Chronicles 20:3/12/17/24 Romans 12:19
Acts 13:1 – Elimas is trying to stop the deputy from salvation. You don’t stop them they will stop you. Vengeance is one of the component of the end time church
Profitable ways to Fasting
- We must come confessing and forsaking our sin Psalms 66:19/51:13 Isaiah 59:1-2 John 9:31 1 John 1:8 —- clear the sin barrier. Repentance does not set free from sin, it only makes possible past sin to be forgiven John 5:14 Isaiah 52:1-2 — we must take responsibility to be free from the cloak of sin and hell 1 John 3:3 2 Timothy 2:21 Matthew 5:6
Without clearing the sin barrier, prayer and fasting is just punishment. Behind all forms of defilement are unclean spirit. Among them is the spirit of bondage/addiction Romans 8:15 Luke 13:16 — disability and captivity
There is also the spirit of the world 1 Corinthians 2:12 1 John 2:15-17
There is also the spirit of disobedience Ephesians 2:12 (i don’t care attitude is a spirit). Anytime you react against the truth, there is a spirit at work to make you lose your place and Ezekiel 36:27 — its the spirit of obedience that will help you to subdue the spirit of disobedience.
We have the spirit of whoredoms Hosea 5:4
Every unclean spirit can be cast out Marks 16:17 Romans 13:12
They can be put off Colossians 3:8-9/10 — sin is as lifeless as the shoes and clothes we wear. We can put it on and off at will.
You can lay it aside Hebrews 12:1 Romans 13:14 — no one can be free from sin without taking personal responsibility Colossians 3:5-6 (mortify, annihilate and destroy) John 5:18 1 Timothy 4:7-8.
- We must also refuse to be offended in God. It disconnect you from receiving attention Matthee 11:6. Beware of timing God, your times are in hands Psalms 31:15 Matthew 6:24
Faith must be coupled with patience to deliver its good Hebrews 6:12 Ecclesiastes 3:11
- Define your purpose for the fast in specific terms. Don’t approach fast like a duty, let it be a fast as a man on a mission Ezra 8:21-23 2 Chronicles 20:3 Daniel 10;2-12. How will you know what you are retuning with if you don’t know what you are praying for. We serve a God of specific.
- Engage your heart in seeking the face of God because only prayer of the heart secures God’s attention and intervention Jeremiah 29:13 — you can’t find me absent heartedly Jeremiah 30:21. We engage our heart to secure access on the alter of prayer for attention and intervention 2 Chronicles 27:6 Proverbs 16:1
