What is cell theory?
Cell theory states that the cell is the fundamental structural and functional unit of living matter. In 1839 German physiologist Theodor Schwann and German botanist Matthias Schleiden promulgated that cells are the “elementary particles of organisms” in both plants and animals and recognized that some organisms are unicellular and others multicellular. This theory marked a great conceptual advance in biology and resulted in renewed attention to the living processes that go on in cells.

Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has revealed that the Federal Government has approved the construction of an airstrip for Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland.

Oyedepo announced this during the Tehillah Night Special Edition at Covenant University Chapel, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State on Sunday.

According to Oyedepo, this development will enable him to travel directly from the church premises, eliminating the need to fly to the airport first.

He said, “I am sure you will be glad to know that the Federal Government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland.

won’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport. I can leave from here to wherever I am going. Members with their planes will have where to land and park.”

The airstrip reportedly aims to improve transportation for worshippers and visitors, especially during large events like the church’s programs that draw thousands of individuals from around the world.

Won’t you be glad to know that there are some captains that fly me who are graduates of Covenant University? We don’t have an aviation department here, but they found their place in God and went after it.

“That’s what this university is all about, it’s not about boxing you up. It’s about allowing you to locate God’s plan and pursue it accordingly. Young people, don’t play away your life, you don’t have a spare,” he said.

The Tehillah Night special edition was a special thanksgiving programme held in honour of the bishop who recently marked his 70th birthday in September.

MORNING TEA
TUESDAY 08 OCTOBER 2024

*ACCORDING TO THE PLAN*

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

*For even before I was born, God had chosen me to be his and called me—what kindness and grace—to reveal his Son within me so that I could go to the Gentiles and show them the Good News about Jesus.*
*(Galatians 1:15–16, TL*

TODAY'S WORD

Saul was the biggest enemy of the early church, arresting people who were followers of Christ. He was like a terrorist until a sudden light from Heaven struck him to the ground on the road to Damascus and Jesus revealed Himself to him. *That day was a turning point, and Saul eventually became the apostle Paul.* If God based His will only on our decisions, Paul wouldn’t have had a chance. The beauty is that God has a sovereign will that overrides our choices and puts us into His purpose. *It’s the goodness of God stepping in and showing us mercy and love when we should have judgment.* In Paul’s case, this sovereign act brought him into his destiny to preach the gospel to the Gentiles.

*When you understand that God is sovereign, that He’s not basing everything on your choices, your ability, or your background, you can stay in peace.* Disappointments, losses, and bad breaks are all working according to the plan and purpose He decided long ago. You have to trust that He’s sovereign when you don’t understand.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

*“Father, thank You for loving me and for never writing me off when I’ve been off course and failed. Thank You that You saw a chosen vessel in Saul when he was persecuting the church, and You’re going to use me as Your instrument as well. I believe You are bringing me into my destiny. In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.”* 🙏🏽

The Next Narrative Africa Fund, a $40 million initiative, has been launched to support African filmmakers. The fund, created by Nigeria’s Next Narrative Africa and Kenya’s HEVA Fund, will target filmmakers with movie budgets between $1 and $5 million. It will raise and deploy the funds over the next four years.

The fund aims to provide both equity investments and grants for films. It will take equity in some films while giving grants to others. The first close is expected in the first quarter of 2025, with final investments by the end of the year.

The fund will invest in commercially viable African films with global appeal. These films will focus on important themes such as gender and racial equity, climate change, and inclusive economic growth.

New Opportunity for Africa’s Growing Film Industry
Next Narrative Africa Fund will give African filmmakers a fresh avenue for investment. African cinema has attracted attention globally.

Nollywood, in particular, has produced films that yielded significant returns. Some Nollywood investors reported three times their initial investments. Streaming giant Netflix has also invested $178 million in African film content since 2016.

Akunna Cook, the CEO and Founder of Next Narrative Africa, expressed excitement about the fund. “Africans on the continent and in the diaspora have always been at the forefront of shaping global culture.”

“We’re excited to support creatives who aspire to not only entertain but also inspire and usher in a new narrative about Africa and people of African descent.”

The fund’s advisory board includes film industry experts such as Darcy Heusel from Neon, Areej Noor of Statement Films, and Dominic Buchanan of Home Team.

The fund will also invest in Africa’s broader film and TV infrastructure to support growth across the industry Investments from the fund are expected to have an impact starting in 2025.

that there’s usually some little part of our lives that we want to hold back. Even people who give him a lot often get to a point where they say, “I don’t need to give him any more. That’s good enough.”

I saw this post a while ago: “What if 99.9 percent was good enough?” If it was, then 29,000 credit card transactions would be deducted from the wrong account in the next 60 minutes. If 99.9 percent was good enough, then 12 newborns would be given to the wrong parents in the next 24 hours. 22 commercial airline flights would crash in the next 24 hours. And that’s just in the United States!

Obviously, 99.9 percent isn’t good enough for so much of life. So why is our spiritual life any different?

God wants every part of our lives dedicated to him, but we usually hold back a few areas. This theology nerd was holding on to his mind. His intellect. Other folks might hold back their time. They stay busy with work, social media, and binge-watching The Office again, but don’t have time for prayer or ministry. Other folks might hold back their money. They feel insecure living in the place with the highest cost of living in America, so they’re nervous to give money over to God.

But Jesus gave everything up for us, even to the point of giving up his very life. The least we can do is give our time, money, and minds to him.
