Released via Sony Music West Africa, ‘Sweet Rhythm’ amplifies the artist’s unique sound, which blends Afrobeats, pop, R&B, and trap.

The track, an Afro-fusion piece, explores romantic themes. The artist revealed to Music In Africa that the song was inspired by a past relationship, saying, “I felt so loved, and I just wanted to show her love.”

Following his guest appearance on his sister and popstar Ayra Starr’s track ‘1942’ from her new album *The Year I Turned 21*, which discussed their childhood dreams and determination to succeed, Milar confirmed that ‘Sweet Rhythm’ is the first single from an upcoming EP. He stated, “I’ve been quiet for long enough. I can’t be heard if I don’t speak up. I want to be heard, so I put a part of me out there that everyone can relate to and cross my fingers. I’m gonna stay humble and make sure people love what I do enough to make me a part of their everyday life.”

Signed to the Don Jazzy-led Mavin Records as a songwriter and producer, the 19-year-old began making music at a young age in Cotonou and continued in Lagos, where he joined his church choir along with his siblings. Inspired by the choir, Milar developed a passion for guitar and production.

His songwriting credits include contributions to Ayra Starr’s *19 & Dangerous* album, with tracks like ‘Bloody Samaritan’ and ‘Beggie Beggie’ featuring CKay. He has also penned songs for Johnny Drille’s *Before We Fall Asleep* LP, including ‘Lies (To Whom It May Concern)’ and ‘Driving In The Rain’.
